As a nurse, mother, wife and mental health activist I saw a great need to provide mental health education to the public.  This strong desire to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health led me to a career teaching others about mental illness and suicide prevention.

I am the behavioral health educator at a local hospital as well as a certified mental health first aid instructor.

And, with the assistance of my therapy dog Cooper, I started the animal assisted therapy program for the hospital.  You can follow the adventures of Cooper on instagram @cooperthewonderpet . Cooper is also available to visit hospitals, nursing homes and schools.  Cooper works on a volunteer basis (well, he does like cookies).  If you are interested in having Cooper come visit, please contact me at 440-212-6769 or at

I attended Kent State University and graduated Suma Cum Laude. Graduated in the top 1% of my class with my Masters of science in nursing education. I am also a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society for nursing.

Currently, I am working on 2 separate research presentations pertaining to behavioral health education and Electroconvulsive therapy.

Teaching Mental Health First Aid has been an amazing experience and I look forward to presenting many classes in the future.

I have a teaching philosophy that incorporates interaction and activities.   I know that I do not like sitting there for hours looking at a screen,  Boring is not an acceptable method of education.    When taking my classes, you will find the class to be full of energy and informative.
